EXPERIENCE - After 15 years as a CFO for three Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), Talia decided to establish a CFO consulting practice to provide health centers with the knowledge she acquired over her professional career for a fraction of the cost required for a seasoned CFO.


Talia’s experience includes over 15 years just in the community health center field with three Federally Qualified Health Centers, two and a half years in the welfare reform field, two years as CFO in the software field, seven months in the specialty gas field, seven months in the university field, and a year and a half as an auditor in a big national accounting firm. While in the FQHC industry, Talia has been involved with the financial services as well as the operational services of these clinics.

RELIABILITY - Talia is one of the few CFOs in Texas FQHCs that has the experience of having gone through a Division of Financial Integrity (DFI) audit requested by HRSA based on the operations and financial position that the clinic was in preceding Talia’s tenure at the health center. The health center had no findings due to the fact that Talia and her team had already corrected the issues before the DFI was even planned. Also, she contributed in reorganizing and stabilizing the financial position of these three FQHCs.


QUALITY - Talia has directed finance and operations as well as developed budgets and managed the funding process in for-profit and non-profit organizations. She successfully initiated innovative cost controls and cash management and operational strategies to ensure optimal application of company resources. Consistently, she led management and financial groups to exceed all established goals, and effectively performed in high-pressure competitive environments. Her strong leadership skills and superior problem solving abilities helped develop effective solutions to the most difficult of business challenges while securing buy-in at all levels.

Talia is also fluent in Spanish (read, write and speak).
